Siem Reap is a bustling modern city that is becoming a hub for expats and is welcoming in a plethora of cute coffee shops, modern cafes, and delicious restaurants. The city has a thriving health culture with vegan and vegetarian options focusing on real and organic local produce and foods. You have a great selection of local craft coffee, beer, kombucha, and international foods from all over the world. There are almost too many places to choose from. After exploring the city, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best restaurants in Siem Reap.
Best Restaurants in Siem Reap
Artillery Cafe
Artillery Cafe is a plant-based, lifestyle-focused menu that has vegetarian, vegan, and raw food. They also have several meat options on the menu for the carnivores like us. Their dishes are nutrient-dense ‘superfoods’ and are made with organic, local ingredients. We are not vegetarian or vegan, but we loved this cafe and ate here several times on our trip.
My favorite was their avocado chicken wrap as well as their Mexican mango bowl, which was grilled chicken breast with corn, roasted veggies, avocado, black bean salsa and brown rice with fresh mango and tahini dressing. They have amazing homemade hummus plates and their herb chicken sandwich is amazing as well. They also have a local Kombucha brand called Fermented Kitchen and their mint flavor is my favorite.

Elia Greek Kitchen
Elia Greek Kitchen is the cutest, charming, Greek restaurant in a quiet spot across the river on a less busy part of Pub Street. If you are looking for Greek food, then this is one of the best restaurants in Siem Reap to visit. This restaurant is an oasis that transports you to Europe in Southeast Asia with the best souvlaki (gyros) and sangria around. The decor is exposed brick and white reminiscent of the houses in Greece. The decor is awesome, surrounding you with hanging lanterns and quotes from Greek philosophers. They have a huge hangout lounge upstairs as well. This quickly became one of our favorite spots in Siem Reap.

Maybe Later Mexican
This is a Mexican bar and grill across the river from the wooden water mill outside of the loud and crowded Pub Street. If you are looking for Mexican food, then this is one of the best restaurants in Siem Reap to check out.
It’s run by a California expat who married a local and started a place for young people Cambodians to do street art and express themselves. They are partnered in the community to help stop the use of drugs in the city and create a safe place for the local youth to work and have a future. Their burrito was traditional and so, so good. This place is busy and you have to come early to grab a table for dinner. They have plenty of space with a whole different upstairs seating lounge as well. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Siem Reap

Don’t miss the large upstairs lounge decorated with wall murals and an overall bohemian aesthetic. They sell their own cookbook, bamboo straws, and other eco products. Some of their top sellers are their Buddha and Acai bowls that are around $5-$7 a bowl with lots of fruit and superfoods, or veggies, rice, and their own homemade cashew mayo. They have burgers, tacos, and sandwiches as well as fresh juices. They are known for their amazing desserts as well such as passionfruit cheesecake which is made with fresh fruit, vanilla bean, raw honey, coconut oil, and lemon with an almond base.

This is a local Cambodian food restaurant that is modern and has beautiful tiles, copper hanging lights, and pops of bright color. The restaurant sells higher end local dishes and beer, with a great lunch special including an entree, beer, and ice cream for $7. The meals are huge and delicious. We had the Kabob plate and a beef burger that were delicious. Their homemade ice cream was some of the best I have had and tasted like cake batter even though it was vanilla. It was so creamy. Temple Coffee

This was our favorite coffee shop and bakery in town and it was such a unique and artistic space from the entrance to every detail inside of their shop. You enter under a bamboo teepee of hanging coffee cups to a brick and cement modern building with ceiling to floor windows and vaulted ceilings facing the river and city temple hence temple coffee. There is exposed brick walls, old motorbikes, and other vintage decor accessories along with wood, and low set tables that are comfy couch like spaces where you take off your shoes to enter your own padded low seated cubicle. This place has the best coffee, meals, and snacks and you can sit for hours to work or just hang out or escape the rain as we did. This place also has a rooftop sky lounge that also doubles as a bar at night that is open until midnight with amazing views of the city along the Siem Reap River.
